The Center for the Theatre in Therapies is a space for the research, the practice and teaching of those theatre experiences, which may be applied in therapies for persons suffering from psichic or physical handicap, in the problem fields of social emargination and drug addiction.
In this space theatre experts work together with therapists and scientists from various matters of human science, discussing and analysing different experiences and elaborating methodologies.
After twenty years of practice in application of theatre research in the most various contexts, from total istitutions like psichatric hospitals and private and public communities for drug addicts (in Argentine, Norway, Germany and Italy), the founders of Cett felt the necessity to create a space where to synthesize and potentiate the experience, which should be autonomous from theatre as from specific therapeutic contexts.
The Psychodrama arises from the careful psychoanalytic analysis of the practice of Stanislavski, but until then theatre research has'nt stopped: it is necessary to integrate new developments and to confront eachother with more recent experiences.
The Center therefore is that place, where it's possible to study the therapeutic values of those practicis due to Stanislavskij, Mejerch'old, Vachtangov and Grotowski as much as to Moreno, Pearls, Goffman and Lowen.
The founders and directors of the Center are Cora Herrendorf and Horacio Czertok, directors, actors and pedagogues of Teatro Nucleo in Ferrara.
